Sharbot Lake Housing Project

24 Units & servicing infrastructure

The Township of Central Frontenac retained 2B Development to provide development consulting services to assess the financial and development feasibility of a new multi-unit housing project on municipal land. The focus of the study combined the assessment of both housing and infrastructure services, and the assessment of pathways for pursuing both. This initial work was funded as a result of a grant application that 2B submitted for the Township to FCM and the SAH Planning Grant program, which resulted in $30,000.00 being awarded towards covering costs.

2B presented their findings to Council and then held an afternoon workshop with Council, municipal staff, and members from the Housing Committee. The workshop covered:

  1. Housing Feasibility

  2. Servicing pathways (water and wastewater)

  3. Ownership and partnership options

The workshop led to an engaged discussion among all members and immediate next steps for 2B, further deliverables to be returned to Council, and positive feedback.
