The Nation Municipality retained the services of 2B and Rural Impact Canada to conduct a feasibility analysis and develop a strategy to identify pathways to complete necessary repairs and maintain operations of an existing community centre in the region. 2B progressed their work by incorporating housing as a strategic pathway for both financial sustainability for the community centre and the provide new and diverse rental housing to the community. This work was funded through a grant that 2B helped the Nation Municipality receive under the SAH Planning Grant program administered by FCM. 2B performed the financial analysis by creating a financial model, developed strategy, and completed municipal engagement over 3 months to complete the work under the grant. Our team then presented to Council and this work has since supported several steps that the municipality has taken with the property.
