Leeds& Grenville Interval House

8-12 Units, Transitional Housing Feasibility Study

Leeds and Grenville Interval House (LGIH) is a non-profit, registered charity that provides emergency shelter and support to women and their children fleeing domestic violence across all 13 lower-tier municipalities in the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. Their emergency shelter is the only shelter offered in the Municipality for those fleeing domestic violence, and for the last several years, it has been operating at maximum capacity. In 2024, LGIH considered building its own transitional housing units and retained 2B to complete a Needs and Demand Assessment and a Financial Feasibility Assessment for them. Our work included analyzing different development pathways, short and long-term organizational resources and capacity, and three different development concepts. Our work concluded with a series of recommendations to LGIH for the development of new transitional housing.
