Kingston Cohousing (KC) is a grassroots cohousing initiative that aims to create a new community-oriented housing model in Kingston, where residents share common values, participate in governance, and live with an emphasis on sustainability and community building. KC is progressing through preliminary project feasibility and aims to progress their visionary project to predevelopment in 2026.

KC retained 2B in 2026 to provide development consulting and project management services, which have started with initial concept feasibility and stakeholder engagement. Our current work has focused on engagement with municipal staff and the ownership group for the contemplated site, which includes additional working groups and boards. 2B is leading the development and implementation of the strategic plan that aims to progress the initial concept into pre-development activities, including MOUs and planning approvals throughout 2026. Our primary focus is on one particular building for KC, but also includes broader feasibility analysis for the entire site, which is critical to achieving project-specific progress.

2B has worked with the City of Kingston on other similar projects, and this project by KC expands upon our proven track record and experience progressing complex projects that align with municipal, provincial, and federal objectives. The project will develop between 30-60 units of housing and up to 100 (or more) further units across the entire parcel.
